Surbiton Tour

We took a tour of the Surbiton area, the small town where our flats are. Our tour guide was Joan Anton, the Study Abroad Manager for Kington. He is originally from Spain so he told us a little bit about his culture as well as British culture. He showed us where the best Indian restraurant, the Red Rose is, which hopefully we'll get a chance to visit soon. It's across the street from another that's apparently a local celebrity hot spot, but the food isn't as good. We also stopped by the train station and the Sainsbury Grocery Store, a British equivalent to a Walmart market. Nearby were the UK Target and Whole Foods. He pointed out a pub called the Lamb. The OCU crew tried to go there for dinner but all they serve is drinks and cheese so we walked a little further to a pub called the Black Lion. Tanner and I shared scampi and chips and a Strongbow. We all headed back to our dorms to catch up on sleep for orientation tomorrow!
