Antony and Cleopatra

After the tour, we stopped into a Pizza Express on the corner for a Pianta pizza of artichokes, spinach, mushrooms, pine nuts, and rocket. Tanner saved Margaret and I a spot in the groundlings line while we ordered and we all shared. There was already a line forming two hours before the show! We rushed to the stage when they opened the doors and got some of the best "seats" in the house. The Globe was smaller than I expected it to be but completely full of people. Because we got groundling tickets we had to stand the whole time, luckily a lot of us got to lean on the stage. The show was fantastic. The actors were some of the best I've ever seen. They had incredible quick changes from one character to the next and during Antony's death, he was dragged up a ramp right in front of Tanner's face. We could smell the sweat. There is a monologue that Cleopatra gives where he addresses the women in the scene. Because it was daylight and the audience can be seen the entire time, they become part of the show. When Eve Best said "women" she looked directly at Lauren and I. It was intensely powerful. By far the best show we've seen yet! I can't wait to see Titus Andronicus!
Some of the crew!

Our spots in the audience.

She's utterly stunning!
