Globe

We visited The Globe Theatre today! We met Lance at Waterloo just before 10 a.m. and he guided us the rest of the way there on a train, then along the river past a few theaters and the bridge for the last Harry Potter movie that I'm sure has a specific name. We had an incredible tour guide named Val, who will be retiring this year. She's been with The Globe since before its rebuild. She was full of amazing facts about the theatre. She said her favorite shows to see are those done in the traditional style with all male casts and Elizabethan garb. After the tour we hit the exhibition, which went into even more detail about Shakespeare and the world he lived in. I watched a video of Mark Rylance gearing up to play Cleopatra in a performance several years ago. The production was Elizabethan down to the ingredients in the make-up!

All the world's a stage, even Nina's hand.

The stones surrounding the theatre each have a donor's name on them. Look who I found!
